john89,

Is there any way to hide embedded images on lemmy?

These are pretty annoying.

oce,

Maybe some specific frontend or mobile app.

Loce, in Brazil gives Meta 72 hours to explain new fact-check policies

Brasil, please ban facebook. First twitter then facebook. Fuck the gready corporate assholes. Someone needs to make a first step and create a precedent, we need this. Social media will be (already is) the downfall of our civilization.

john89, in Australia is the first nation to ban social media for under-16s.

Should be left up to the parents.

Rooty, in Physical Media Is Dead, Long Live Physical Media

Physical media is clunky and obsolete, you can store the contents of an entire 90s era video store on a cigarette pack sized device nowadays. The solution to streamer wars is to stop pussyfooting around and just pirate shit.

scarabic, in Viral ChatGPT-powered sentry gun gets shut down by OpenAI

Pulling his API key is nothing even close to shutting his project down. But hell I know better than to expect some journalist to have a clue on that.

IDKWhatUsernametoPutHereLolol, in Australia is the first nation to ban social media for under-16s.

Unenforcible Law.

Gotta require ID verifications and ban all VPNs in order to actually be enforcible.

Surely, the website owners would never sell your information, right? Right?

Please, do it.

Shardikprime, in As Elon Musk Promotes Far-Right German Party, EU Politicians Suggest Shutting Off X's Algorithm

freedom of speech and information

  1. Everyone has the right to freedom of expression. This right shall include freedom to hold opinions and to receive and impart information and ideas without interference by public authority and regardless of frontiers. This article shall not prevent States from requiring the licensing of broadcasting, television or cinema enterprises.
  2. The exercise of these freedoms, since it carries with it duties and responsibilities, may be subject to such formalities, conditions, restrictions or penalties as are prescribed by law and are necessary in a democratic society, in the interests of national security, territorial integrity or public safety, for the prevention of disorder or crime, for the protection of health or morals, for the protection of the reputation or rights of others, for preventing the disclosure of information received in confidence, or for maintaining the authority and impartiality of the judiciary.

Anyway, go find your braincells.

Rooty,

Meta is a super invasive data harvesting tool that creates shadow profiles for non users, which is now being used to bolster authoritatarianism. If you fail to grasp thar you are either dense or malicious.

Good. At least someone is saying something. More people and companies should voice their opinion.

ComicalMayhem, in Lenovo Makes Rollable OLED Screens a Laptop Reality

imagine making a laptop case for that

ddash, in Lenovo Makes Rollable OLED Screens a Laptop Reality

How does that work on the software side? I guess you can only slide it out fully, will that part be black while it comes up and then your display automatically changes resolution?

TachyonTele,

Adaptive screen resolution? Maybe like how phones can auto rotate the image? But less annoying hopefully. Sounds like a future feature if this type of thing takes off.

seven_phone, in Lenovo Makes Rollable OLED Screens a Laptop Reality

Can you make it more ugly and prone to mechanical failure for no gain.
