Is this the same way those bladeless Dyson fans work?

turbodrooler, to retrogaming in CRT simulator shader released for high-refresh OLED, LCD screens

Do light guns work with this?

RightHandOfIkaros,

No, because lightguns require the electron gun in a CRT. Its how the gun knows where you are pointing it

Th4tGuyII, to technology in Elon Musk's xAI raises $6B to build more powerful AI supercomputers
@Th4tGuyII@fedia.io avatar

How the fuck do people keep giving him more money??

Most of his ventures are dumpster fires, and SpaceX only runs well because he doesn't touch it.

apfelwoiSchoppen, to technology in SemiKong is the world's first open-source semiconductor-focused LLM

I love when it is clear that writer just copied and pasted a press release from a company with very little rewriting.

CmdrShepard42, to technology in SemiKong is the world's first open-source semiconductor-focused LLM

SemiKong advertises a 20-30% reduction in time to market for new chip designs and a 20% improvement in first-time-right manufacturing scores.

Oh yeah? How is that accomplished when it can take a decade of development to get a new CPU out the door? Was this developed a decade ago?

Buffalox,

You know there are simpler custom chips too right?

That said, it sounds a bit like bullshit to me too.

Interestingly, Gorelkin emphasized that the console should not merely serve as a platform for porting old games but also for popularizing domestic video games.

Apparently state-subsidized efforts have not yet popularized appropriate domestic games on their own.

finley, to technology in AI language model runs on a Windows 98 system with Pentium II and 128MB RAM

Imagine how much better it would run on a similar era version of redhat, gentoo, or beos.

They just proved that the hardware was perfectly capable, in the absolute garbage middle layer-the operating system is what matters about propelling the potential of the hardware forward into a usable form.

Many people may not remember, but there were a few Lins distributions around at the time. Certainly, they would have been able to make better use of the hardware had enough developers worked on it.

cmnybo, to technology in AI language model runs on a Windows 98 system with Pentium II and 128MB RAM

Let me know when someone gets an LLM to run on a Bendix G15. This Pentium stuff is way too new.
