Influencers are sales people. They are there to sell you things, it's a job as an ongoing infomercial.
All you are doing is is listening to advertising, repackaged as some 'expert' or 'guru' who claims to know some special information that they are sharing with you.
It's an Ad.
Within the billionaire bubble there was a lot of hype. Outside of that, not so much.
A new platform to colonize, gathering info on what people were looking at in the virtual world and selling that to advertising made their wallets go very erect.
I think the destinction between the chinese firm constructing the site and BYD itself is quite important here. I am absolutely not a fan of chinese car manufacturers but its just not the same as if BYD was operating the site right now and this news came to light
The whole idea that it violates the terms of service of a company to not let them show things on my screen without my consent is insane. It's like if every time you went to the grocery store, the employees held you down and force fed you a free sample, then banned you from the store when you started running away from them.
